Bill Burke and I and another friend enjoyed three lovely days and two gorgeously dark nights at ASV at Portal, in the southeastern corner of our state behind the glorious Chiricahua Ntl. Monument. I have attached some pictures to show the scenery, etc. There are some 15 or so private observatories and homes there, some quite impressive and luxurious. We rented a private home there and brought our own scopes for observing and imaging. A great time was had by all.

This was taken from the court in front of the house through the spotting scope. I had no idea that the Moon would rise directly behind the towers on Mt Elden.

October, 2016

A great finale to the 2016 FSP. Despite chilly temps and breezy conditions. I have attached one of my wide angle shots to remind us how much fun it was. Not the greatest picture due the constant breeze from my far out vantage point buffing the camera, but at least provides a flavor of what went on. See you all there next year.
