Bug and Cat paw nebula's

Had some luck recently with great early summer Milky Way views. Here are two recent images that are a bit unusual.

1. The Milky Way region extending from M8 and M20 to M24 also known as the Sagittarius cloud with some of the highest star density in our galaxy. This is a shot taken with a 200 mm telephoto lens and IDAS LPS V4 filter on a superbly dark night view from my observatory around 2 am two night ago.

2. The Lobster and Cat's Paw nebulae just above the scorpion's stinger. Usually seeing is not good enough from our latitude for objects that low in the southern sky, but this was a rare night of lucky seeing. Shot with the TMB-92 apo at F/5.5 and IDAS LPS-V4 filter. A stack of 4 x 3 minute exposures with the Canon 6D at ISO 3200.
