Milky Way - 10mm f6

© 2014 Klaus Brasch

Last night (actually 3 am this morning May 3rd, 2014!) was one of the first truly gorgeous times this year to view the summer milky way in all its glory. It was mild (45 F) no wind, with great transparency, hooting owls and coyotes all around, in short, my favorite type of night for astronomy. I took about 20 piggy back images with my modified Canon 50D and a 50 mm lens and then pasted them into this collage before processing. (Actually Photoshop did the "pasting" for me). Each exposure was one minute long at ISO 1600.
